What do I look like to you? A guy with a plan?
Every day when I woke up a question pops up in my mind “What the heck am I doing with my life?”
Does this question sound familiar to you?
Life is complex. One day you’re happy, working on your daily tasks, and the next day you wake up, thinking: “What the fuck should I do with my life?”
Everyone will face the same challenge one way or the other over the course of a long career. It’s tough to figure out which direction to go to next in my life journey.”
I’ve been there many times as well. No one is immune to being confused. Let’s face it — there are literally a million things you can do with your life.
We all know that nothing good comes easy in life. For good things to happen we need to take massive action.
But the question arises is What type of actions to take? What should you do?
I think we need to set our goals and priorities first before going further in our life.
Setting goals and accomplishing them is something I have never done in my entire life. My life decisions were never fully mine. I was a quitter. Whenever something makes me push out of my comfort zone I quit.
So I decided to set up my personal and blogging goals and put up here on my blog. It is scary to put out in public my backlogs and failures but this might be helpful for me to keep a track on my progress as well as to other bloggers who are trying to make it big like me.
I also love the idea of sharing my goals with you guys for a couple reasons. One, it keeps me accountable. Knowing that others are aware of what I am working toward pushes me harder to reach my goals. Second, it really excites me when I think about reporting back to you about everything I have done.
So let’s begin :
Personal goals
#1
Read 2 Books this month: I have never done this on my will :). But as we all know book reading is a must for our ultimate growth. So, in the beginning, it will be best for me to start with just two books. I will update you guys soon about which books I am going to read this month.
#2 Fitness Goal: I need to work on my body as it is going out of shape. I had thought about coming up with a specific amount of weight I’d like to lose but figured it’d be more healthy to not obsess over a certain number. With all the stress I’m under, I have gained some weight these past months and I need to drop all that and more. I plan on doing this by working out and changing my eating habits. I won’t be dieting or going vegan or something crazy, haha. I’m just going to find a better balance.
#3 Declutter Everything: From my laptop storage to my closet… I need a good decluttering!
#4 Figure out your life and take some hard career decisions: I think it’s high time for me to figure out what I need to do and how I need to do it. Maybe I will not reach to a perfect answer this early but at least I will get some answers.
#5 Do some Meditation: Everyday go for a solo long drive in a car with some music. This is the best way to clear my thoughts out. Never ever skip this step.
I think for this month that many personal goals are enough.
Blogging Goals
#1 Post at-least twice a week: There is a lot going on in my life but no matter what happens I need to post at-least twice this month and build a routine of writing.
#2 Gain 200 blog followers: Workout on strategies to gain more followers. Try to reach new bloggers every day. It’s tough and time-consuming but needs to do it.
#3 Start using social media: I am not using social media now but to take blogging to the next level I need to work on my social media strategies one by one. This month I will use twitter and will try to gain 100 followers. You can check out my twitter account here.
#4 Need to start making a little money through this blog: To get into full time blogging I need to start earning some money from this blog but through some genuine ways. Don’t want to turn this blog into a crap. Maybe earning 1$ at the end of the month will be a good small goal for the beginning.
#5 Increase my blog monthly views from 1500 to 2000 this month.
#6 Read at-least 10 blog posts every day from other users: I love reading articles from other users. Will try to read as much as I can.
#7 Build at-least two genuine blogger friends at the end of the month: Having friends in this blogging world is really the best that can happen to you.
I think that much goals are enough for this month. As it’s my first time setting goals so don’t want to get carried away with it.
Let’s see what will this brings in to my life this month.
What’re your August goals? Tell me in comments or else you can leave the link to your blog post. I would love to read your goals.
Hey man. I can see we are both at simmilar point in our blogging, we have good, thoughtful content and we want to grow our veiwership.
I also need to shed about 15lbs,I like to meditate (by that I mean closing my eyes and clearing my mind of all thoughts).
I could use a blogging buddy, an honest critic and someone to bounce my ideas off of, b/c I do not see myself making money here at the rate i’m goin-not that that is my goal.
Ya I agree with you, it’s a story of the every newbie who enters into this blogosphere with some dreams to accomplish but soon loses his/her hopes when nothing happens. Blogging needs enormous smart efforts and time to grow. But having a blogging buddy can increase your productivity by 100% and creativity level also increases.
Indeed earning money from the blog is not our goal. But running a blog needs money and motivation. So if we get a little of our expenditure back it keeps us motivated and go further without stopping.
Glad to know that our goals are same from loosing weight to meditation to blogging. Let’s connect, contact me at info@vinaygarg.me I would also love to have an honest blogging buddy 🙂
Have a wonderful day MATE,
🙂
Yeah, I thought it would all happen overnight where pple would thirstily drink my words and i’d have a following of 10,000 by sept. Not so much. I even worry about posting something too good b/c i’m “wasting it” on 30 views now when in a year the post would get 1000….hopefully, only if i don;t write good stuff now, there wont be anyone to see what i write next yr.
Nothing happens overnight. We need to be consistent for a long long time and only good content is not the key we need to work on other factors also to actually lead people to our blog. BY doing smart blogging we can achieve the year worth of value in just 3 4 months. 🙂
love this!
🙂 🙂
Hey!! I like your goals… good luck achieving your goals
Thank you @throughmyeyes Have a awesome blossom day! 🙂 😉
You too ?
I love the idea of writing out goals! I may try this strategy in the future because I believe it might hold me too some goals I am making for myself.
yaaa it do helps Evee. It makes us try harder everyday because we know that at the end of the month we are accountable to our readers. I maybe lagging behind some of the goals written above but I am trying to fulfill them before September arises. Good luck for your goals. You will definitely achieve them. Have a great day! 🙂
